Packing & Moving Again!

Well we are coming down to the end of our first term, can you believe it!  We have only 17 days left in Santiago, Chile and have begun packing and selling all of our things.  This is the part I dislike the most.  As a women, putting my life into boxes and shipping it on a plane is just the worst.

Stress levels have been high as we still have lots of ministry left to do in the middle of selling off furniture and packing.  I am right in the middle of preparing care packages for the orphanage I have been working with.  Tonight I went out and spent $500 on personal items needed desperately by the girls.  This money was provided miraculously after sending up a prayer.  Another pastor in NJ provided the girls with beautiful bibles that will also go in the care packages.  God is sooooo good :)

Despite the stress of these last days in Chile, God continues to meet our every need.  Thank you churches for your faithfulness!

Prayer Request (Church Plant Launching)

Hello again, this is Bob Perez.

Hi all, remember that Church Planting Boot Camp a few weeks back?  It continues to make impacts.  What I am saying is that on March 21, again, we are launching a BRAND NEW CHURCH and the Pastor and his wife were participants in that Boot Camp!!  AMEN…..

I want to ask for your prayers because we will begin the day with a group of 40-50 kids that they reach every weekend, and “YOU MY FRIENDS”, due to your generous offerings are providing the meat for a FREE community barbecue and we are going to spend about 2 hours just playing as “MAN-BOYS” :)

Next, we are going to setup in a soccer field next to the church building which is a rented storefront and by God’s grace, we are going to begin something that will grow and impact that community in a tangible way.  I do not plan to preach, but have close friends share how God has changed them and then close with a call for salvation and the very next morning, the Pastor will hold his very first Sunday service!

Please pray for God’s success, for Pastors Juan Carlos & Claudia, for the ministry to the kids, and for the leading of the Holy Spirit.   You have helped make this launch possible and thank you for investing not only in us, but in Pastor Claudia & Juan Carlos of Concha Li.  Blessings…..

Michele’s Miracle

I am currently working with an all girls orphanage here in Santiago, Chile. There are 60 girls that live at this orphanage and I was asked by the director to come and mentor some of the older teenage girls about 15 in total. It has been a total success and after much time the girls have really begun to open up their hearts. Since we are headed home on furlough on April 9th I have been pretty sad knowing that I will have to leave the girls. This part of missionary work is the hardest!

In an effort to show the girls what a normal family life was like I started bringing them home one-by-one. Lizzette was the first girl I brought to my home (age 17). She finally shared her testimony with me and boy did I cry! On the way back to drop her off at the orphanage we stopped and prayed the sinners prayer together. It was such a blessing to see how God is working through each one. That evening my heart was so heavy and I silently whispered to the Lord, I wish we had a little extra money to be able to do something special for each one before we leave.

I woke up the next morning and went to pick up the mail and would you believe there was a card in our P.O. Box. It was from a member of one of our supporting churches. The letter read “Enclosed please find a check that you may use in any way you wish, I know you will put it to good use”.  How amazing is the God we serve, he knew my need even before I asked. It takes mail about 10 days to get here and God knew I would go to the post office that same exact day! I do believe in miracles, how about you?

Antofagasta Crusades

Hello again, this is Bob Perez.

Hi all, I know I just recently sent out an e-mail, but this has been and extremely busy month and it is getting busier by the minute.  We just finished our Church Planting Boot Camp and so what do you do now?  You preach the word by going out and planting churches.  I have been invited by some Pastors in the North to come and share and as of tomorrow @ 8:00am EST, our family of 4 will be getting in the car and driving some 25 hours (EACH WAY) for a crusade!!

I have listed some prayer requests below and would really ask that you pray for us:

1.)    Driving safety.  25 hours in car is enough to drive anyone crazy.  The road we will be traveling goes right through the desert and the dangers are many.  So please remember to pray for us as we make this long journey.

2.)    Evangelistic crusade in Antofagasta.  We will be ministering to children during the day and even showing a movie Saturday night.  We have packed candy, toys, clothes and even some hand-knitted hats made with love from Lexington, VA.  In the evenings, we will be focused on reaching those who still do not yet know Jesus and the theme is “How do you trust in a God you cannot see?”.

So thank you for your prayers and let’s believe for a mighty move of God!!

Prayer Request Update

Hello again, this is Bob Perez.

Friends, God has done it again.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

Last night around 7:30pm EST, the walls came down.  It was a fight all day long and just difficult to get through to anyone.  So at the very end of the evening service, in one instant the walls came tumbling down when a Pastor shared some of his personal difficulties.  It started with just one person willing to be vulnerable!  He was in tears as he shared and one by one each Pastor followed suit.  We had finally reached a pinnacle in which the Holy Spirit took over and it was smooth sailing from then on!

Today was absolutely phenomenal and I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for your prayers.  Praise the Lord for modern technology. Blessings……….

Urgent Missions Prayer Request

Hello again, this is Bob Perez.

Friends, I would like to ask you to please pray for us. Yesterday, we kicked off our first ever Church Planting Seminar and it has been historical in nature. As I have said, our national A/G is in the process of creating a church planting movement and so my role has been to help achieve the success and longevity in the life of these churches and it is for that reason we have put together this intensive “Boot Camp” being led by our missionary colleague, Larry Gruetzmacher.

What I never expected was that we were going to open some “closets” and in the process rattle some peoples thinking. I am sure that just sparked your interest :) Let’s just say, I need to ask you to pray. Things are going exceptionally well, but the devil is looking for any and every way to stifle what God is doing here in Chile. This event is 100% absolutely historical and we need God.

So today, would you please pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in our meetings that will last until Saturday? Pray that God would grant us the ability to invade the Devil’s territory and continue to build His church. Pray for unity, purpose, and the equipping of believers. As national leadership, we are entering into a project that has never before been attempted and we are hungry for God to do what only He can do. Thank you.

First-Time ever Church Boot Camp

cmn

Hello again, this is Bob Perez.

Hi all, this week I am holding our first ever church planting boot camp to help prepare the way for a year of Evangelism.  We are going to train Pastors on how to plant churches along with the help of a fellow U.S. missionary, Larry Gruetzmacher.

I would like to please ask that you pray for us as I am already running into various challenges and I am sure that this is an event that the kingdom of darkness would love to see cancelled.  So to God be the Glory as we go forward with the monumental event and let’s believe for great things.

Going Back To The All Girls Orphanage

This Wednesday I will be visiting the all girls orphanage in La Pintana, Santiago again.  I have been meeting with the older girls and need God to give me a word for them.  They are dealing with so much and I know that Jesus is the only one that can give me the words they need to hear.

It’s almost Christmas again and it breaks my heart knowing that most of them will be their yet another year with no family to love them.  They have all come from broken homes and have suffered so much and I can’t help but feel guilty with all of the blessings that I have.  So many times we have pity parties when things don’t go exactly the way we want them to and just stepping into this orphanage reminds me that I should have no complaints.

This Christmas season as you are spending time with loved ones, please remember those who are in desperate need and send up a prayer for these precious lives!

Our Contagious Attitude

Just this past Saturday, I had the opportunity to preach at a women’s tea in our home church.  I am currently doing a 4-month study on the “Inner Life of a Woman”.  The first 2 sessions were awesome and this past one turned out to be my favorite.  Afterwards I gave the ladies some time to share their personal thoughts on how they felt their attitudes affect their family and those around them and they really opened up.

Our attitudes really play a big part in our everyday lives.  I have recently had to recognize some bad attitudes in myself and boy is it hard to change those old habits.  Thank you Lord that we don’t have to do it alone.  We have the Holy Spirit there every step of the way to mold us and change us to be more like Jesus.

I have recently been dealing with some depression.  The lack of close friends has made me a little irritable and not to mention culture clashes.  I realize that every time I feel this way I do have a choice and we all do.  We can choose to rest in the arms of Jesus and patiently wait on Him to supply the need.

Friend don’t give up, he knows your need today!

Scheduling Services

Bob and I have been making calls again trying to get our 2009 schedule as full as possible.  We will have to raise support again to be able to come back and finish our projects here in Santiago, Chile.  It will be exciting as we will be visiting our Hispanic Churches all over the U.S. this time sharing all of our awesome experiences and what we were able to accomplish on our first term.

We are excited to be able to come home again and catch up with family and friends and we know that God has an exciting year planned out for our family!  Please keep us in your prayers as we contact churches back home that God will open the doors and fill our schedule quickly.
